Recognizing that March is “Women's History Month,” Dairy Foods, for the third consecutive year, proudly recognizes the outstanding achievements women have made within the multifaceted dairy industry. 

Undergraduate students in their sophomore through senior year for the 2025-2026 academic school year and enrolled in college/university programs that emphasize dairy are eligible.

In late February, Elanco Animal Health Inc. (ELAN) announced a new agreement with South Dakota-based Medgene to leverage the company's innovative vaccine platform technology. The agreement includes commercialization of a highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) vaccine for use in dairy cattle. 

The Dr. Peter Vitaliano Legacy Scholarship will be used to help support a student who demonstrates attributes exemplified by Dr. Vitaliano to honor his longtime commitment to the success of U.S. dairy producers and cooperatives.

Consumer interest in “clean labels,” i.e., use of ingredients perceived to occur naturally in foods, has created a challenge to frozen dessert formulators.
