The rich and decadent flavor is made with a sweet cream cheese ice cream base with a cupcake completely submerged in the center of the pint. The dessert, designed to be uncovered while indulging, is a dark chocolate, red velvet cupcake with a French chocolate center.

In terms of ice cream and frozen novelty sales, matching a “Super Bowl champion”-level performance like those of the Chiefs’ quarterback Patrick Mahomes in 2020 and 2023, which occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic for ice cream, when consumers sought a home indulgence, is difficult to replicate. 

Even though there’s been overall growth for plant-based alternatives, the market has seen recent areas of decline with consumers leaving categories, like plant-based creamers, yogurt, cheese, and ice cream. 

Peppermint Bark is made with a base of rich peppermint ice cream, sprinkled with candy cane bits and white chocolate chip chunks. Holiday Sugar Cookie packs chunks of sugar cookie dough rolled up in an extra-creamy cookie dough ice cream.

The ice cream is expected to sell for $4.98 until Dec. 26, or while supplies last. Other winter flavors also being introduced.

Custom built from the ground up over an 18-month period, the new facility showcases four gelato lines that can create over one million 3-gallon tubs, 15.6 million pints and 26 million ice cream sandwiches per year.

PROOF Hard Ice Cream’s plant is adjacent to its Columbia, S.C., corporate office, located in an industrial park in a building next door to a technical school.
