Smith Brothers Farms moved into a new 50,000-square-foot space that puts production, warehouse and corporate headquarters under the same roof. The plant produces Milk (conventional and organic), flavored milk, half and half, whipping cream, buttermilk and egg nog in half-pint to 300-gallon formats.

HP Hood built this facility on a green field in 2000. The plant processes extended shelf life fluid milk and nondairy products for Hood’s own brands, private label partners, licensed brands and co-packing accounts.

Westby Cooperative Creamery, Westby, Wis., ships cheese products to New York and high-protein organic Icelandic-style yogurt to the West Coast. Conventional yogurt is bound for Kentucky, the co-op also makes Greek yogurts, cottage cheeses, cream cheeses, sour creams, dairy dips, 14 varieties of hard cheeses and cheese curds. The creamery is the state’s only manufacturer of cottage cheese.
