As we approach a new year, we have the opportunity to revamp our goals and re-plot our course, combining wisdom from past experiences with hopes and dreams for our future. It’s a time to shed what we’ve learned doesn’t work and to refresh our approach to endeavors ahead.
But whether it’s two-parent or single parent homes, we often forget how hard the job of childrearing is, which is why I applaud Ann Romney and Michelle Obama for raising this issue on the national stage. Parenting holds incredibly tough challenges due to vastly changing lifestyles, conflicting priorities and constant scheduling demands. Forget the fountain of youth. The big secret parents are searching for is how to squeeze more time out of each day for their most important concern–namely raising their children.

The worst thing that could ever happen to fluid milk is to use aseptic packaging because the dairy industry would lose those great big electronic display cases that now adorn over 10,000 Class A grocery stores in the United States.

Milk is the only beverage that we consider a food, and is so nutritionally important and multi-purpose that it has its own classification on the USDA’S food pyramid. It also represents powerful yet contradictory views, for we perceive it to be old fashioned and modern, local and global, a treat and a necessity and natural and innovative.
