Lactalis Canada, the Toronto, Canadian dairy leader behind iconic brands like Balderson specialty cheeses, Lactantia butter and siggi’s, acquired specialty brand Khaas. With products that currently include Khaas Halal and Khaas Dahi, Lactalis Canada says it is the only national dairy leader in ethnic yogourt. 

Unlike other marinated cheeses, CHEVOO is crafted using two infusion processes — the goat cheese is hand-blended with herbs and spices while the Extra Virgin Olive Oil blend is steeped for several weeks with crushed botanicals. 

North American flavor producer FlavorSum, a Kalamazoo, Mich.-based North American flavor producer, announced that it has added Meridian Flavors, a U.S.-based flavor manufacturer specializing in natural, non-GMO and organic flavors to the FlavorSum platform.

Sargento Foods said it signed a definitive agreement to acquire St. Cloud, Wis.-based string cheese producer Baker Cheese Factory Inc.

Pierre’s Ice Cream Co., a Cleveland-based manufacturer and distributor of ice cream and other frozen desserts, and Ohio Processors Inc., a London, Ohio-headquartered manufacturer and distributor of dairy-related products, said they finalized an agreement under which Ohio Processors will acquire Pierre’s Ice Cream.
