After months of advocacy by the International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA) with U.S. and European officials, the European Commission (EC) decided Aug. 10 to extend the implementation deadline for its new health certificate requirements to Jan. 15, 2022.
Dairy Foods is accepting nominations for the 16th annual Exporter of the Year award, given in partnership with the U.S. Dairy Export Council.

Dairy Foods is seeking nominations for the 2021 Tom Camerlo Exporter of the Year award. U.S.-based dairy companies that export dairy foods, beverages or ingredients are eligible to enter the annual awards program.
The Chicago Mercantile corn contract traded over $7.00 the first week of May, which is the first time we’ve seen that since 2013. Dairy futures, and maybe even spot prices, have been pulled higher by the increasing feed prices.

The International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA), the U.S. Dairy Export Council (USDEC) and the National Milk Producers Federation (NMPF) applauded U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai for initiating a formal dispute settlement case over Canada’s manipulation of dairy tariff rate quotas (TRQs) under the US-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA).
Several months post-consultations, it is not readily apparent that progress has been made on resolving Canada’s circumvention of its trade obligations.
