The Food Safety Summit, the annual tradeshow for food safety professionals, will celebrate 25 years when it returns to the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Ill., from May 8 to 11. The conference program, developed by an Educational Advisory Board (EAB), will feature sessions led by industry thought leaders.
The Standard of Identity (SOI) for yogurt was established in 1981. But now the SOI is changing and products may not meet new FDA standards; what you need to know to meet federal standards to use the term “yogurt” on the label.
The FDA is accepting comments on the draft guidance. A manufacturer may choose to implement the recommendations in a draft guidance before the guidance becomes final.

"Labeling of Plant-based Milk Alternatives and Voluntary Nutrient Statements: Guidance for Industry," recommends that a plant-based milk alternative product include a voluntary nutrient statement that conveys how the product compares with milk based on the USDA Food and Nutrition Service fluid milk substitutes nutrient criteria.
IDFA states FDA must clearly establish criteria for dairy products.
