The Washington, D.C.-based International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA), speaking on behalf of the U.S. dairy supply chain, said on May 16 that it rejects the government of Canada’s changes to how dairy tariff rate quotas (TRQs) are allocated under the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA).
The Wisconsin Dairy Products Association, the event’s host, said this year’s event will be even more special because it coincides with the association’s 50th anniversary.

Glanbia Nutritionals said it acquired Sterling Technology, a North Sioux City, S.D.-based manufacturer of dairy bioactive solutions derived from bovine colostrum, for $60 million plus deferred consideration.
The research dairy, to be the nation’s largest, will link research, education and outreach in a public-private partnership to support the state of Idaho, generate jobs and support economic progress.

Chobani LLC, New Berlin, N.Y., announced a $1 million gift to the University of Idaho-led Center for Agriculture, Food and the Environment (Idaho CAFE) to help fund construction of the nation’s largest research dairy and advance scientific research to ensure a sustainable future for the U.S. dairy industry.

John Galyen, president of Danfoss North America in Ames, Iowa, since 2011, announced his retirement from Danfoss later this summer. Rick Sporrer, vice president of sales, America for Danfoss Power Solutions, was named to succeed Galyen, the company said.
All profits from the product’s sale will go toward Ukrainian humanitarian aid, with a commitment up to $1 million.
