The International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA) said it is seeking nominations for three awards presented annually to leaders in the dairy industry: the IDFA Laureate Award, the 2022 Innovative Dairy Farmer of the Year Award and the IDFA Food Safety Leadership Award.

Serendipity Brands, a New York-based super-premium ice cream company inspired by iconic desserts from Serendipity3 restaurant, said it appointed Bob Gorman CEO.
Maryland & Virginia Milk Producers Cooperative is a community of more than 900 dairy farm families in 13 states that is “passionate about cultivating dairy goodness and bottling fresh Maola brand milk and dairy products.”
IDFA said the move protects U.S. dairy exports and global infant nutrition supply chains.

After months of advocacy by the International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA) with U.S. and European officials, the European Commission (EC) decided Aug. 10 to extend the implementation deadline for its new health certificate requirements to Jan. 15, 2022.
The companies will collaborate to launch a line of ice cream and vegan frozen desserts.

The International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA) said Dairy Forum will be back “live and in person” in 2022 and that registration for the event opens July 28.
When we last covered sales within the retail ice cream/sherbet category (in our January 2021 issue), the segment was enjoying double-digit growth in both dollars and units. Eight months later — with stay-at-home dictates over and many consumers no longer indulging in as many comfort foods — retail ice cream/sherbet sales are not soaring quite as high.
