Saputo Inc.has entered into an agreement to acquire the fluid milk activities of Scotsburn Co-Operative Services Limited based in Atlantic Canada. 

Cincinnati-based Pro Mach Inc. acquired the assets of Tekkra Systems. Tate & Lyle received the Beverage Innovation of the Year award  at the Food Ingredients Europe Excellence Awards 2013 in Frankfurt, Germany. 

Golden State Foods (GSF), Irvine, Calif., said on Wednesday it acquired a controlling interest in KanPak U.S., Arkansas City, Kan. KanPak produces a variety of dairy-based products such as smoothies, ice cream, milk shake base, packaged milk, coffees, creamers, frozen desserts and specialty beverages using aseptic processing technology. 

Danone, the parent company of U.S. dairy processor Dannon, announced today that it has acquired YoCrunch.

Dean Foods Co. is selling its Morningstar Foods division to Saputo  inc. for $1.45 billion on a debt-free basis. The transaction is expected to close by the end of December 2012.

 TreeHouse Foods acquired the assets of the aseptic cheese and pudding business from Associated Milk Producers Inc. 

Royal DSM, the global Life Sciences and Materials Sciences company, announced today that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Fortitech, Inc. (Fortitech) in an all cash transaction for a total enterprise value of $634 million (about €495 million). 

On Friday, Nov. 2, Zentis said it acquired the Sweet Ovations LLC from Speyside Equity, a private equity firm. Sweet Ovations has a manufacturing facility in Philadelphia and one near Los Angeles. Zentis has a facility in Plymouth, Ind. 

Schneider Packaging Equipment Co., Brewerton, N.Y., said today it acquired the assets of S&R Machinery, a supplier of random and uniform case sealers based in Olyphant, Pa. Schneider specializes in end-of-line solutions for case packing and palletizing.
