Danone is buying WhiteWave, a manufacturer of organic foods, plant-based milks and related products for $10.4 billion. The deal doubles the size of Danone’s U.S. business.

Grupo Lala said among the reasons it bought Laguna Dairy is that drinkable yogurts have been successful with major U.S. retailers and there are “firm commitments” to buy the products.
