Glenn Campbell, regional director of operations for Williamston, S.C.-based Transervice Logistics, joins us for Episode 44 of the “Let’s Talk Dairy” podcast to discuss dairy logistics.
Campbell started in the truck industry as a driver. He changed directions and moved over to fleet maintenance 23 years ago.
Dean Foods was his first foray into the dairy industry, which Dairy Farmers of America later purchased.
Six years ago, Campbell and the Transervice team were awarded the maintenance contract at a dairy in Puerto Rico, Tre Monijitas, also known as 3 Nuns Dairy.
He continues to oversee that operation.
In August 2023, Transervice was awarded another dairy operation, owned by Dairy Farmers of America in LeMars Iowa: Kemps Dairy. He oversees that operation.
Campbell has been working with dairy fleets for more than 12 years.
During this podcast, Campbell talks about the following:
- The biggest logistical challenges dairy processors are currently facing.
- How difficult is to keep dairy products cold, which is of course vital, especially during warm temperatures.
- How staffing for logistical jobs continues to be difficult.
- If there is a connection between dairy logistics and sustainability.
- New technologies available now or could be available in the near future to improve the dairy logistics process.
