Norseland Inc.'s vice president, Linda Karaffa, will retire on Dec. 31 after 43 years of service.
“Linda’s steadfast support has helped strengthen Norseland over the last four decades. She has been an integral part of transforming Norseland from a small sales office to a full dairy organization. Linda’s dedication and drive will be missed,” said John J. Sullivan, CEO and president of Norseland, Inc.
During her tenure, Karaffa had a key role in establishing and structuring TINE's subsidiary, Norseland Inc. USA — the largest market globally for Jarlsberg cheese sales. She was instrumental in securing Norseland Inc. as a “Preferred Importer” in America.
“Linda has always shown her pride and dedication for Jarlsberg cheese, Norwegian Specialty, and our farmers/owners,” stated Unni Sjøflot, International TINE SA Sales.
Additionally, Karaffa also served as First VP on the board of directors for The Cheese Importers Association, a non-profit trade association dedicated to importing, selling, promoting, and distributing cheese in the United States. Karaffa has also been a member of Westconn International Trade Association for more than 30 years. In fact, she was a member of the board of directors and president of the organization from 1991 to 1993.
In retirement, Karaffa and her husband George, plan to enjoy their grandchildren, golfing and traveling.
