As a celebration of dairy farmers’ commitment to communities, Rosemont, Ill.-based Dairy Management Inc. (DMI) said it is joining checkoff partner Domino’s Pizza and Wounded Warrior Project to honor, support and feed veterans and their families on Veterans Day.
“America’s dairy farmers have supported military families for decades. In fact, many dairy farmers and their families have military backgrounds and/or family members currently serving our country,” said Paul Ziemnisky, executive vice president of global innovation partnerships for DMI. “We’re proud to partner with Domino’s Pizza and Wounded Warrior Project to bring food and celebration to our nation’s veterans and their families.”
DMI and Domino’s Pizza are partnering to honor veterans and their families by offering 50% off pizzas for new Domino’s app users during Veterans Day week, Nov. 9-15. DMI said it will help Domino’s market the promotion across key social media and digital platforms.
“Domino’s is proud to join America’s dairy farmers in celebrating our country’s veterans,” said Art D’Elia, chief marketing officer for Domino’s Pizza.
First-time Domino’s app users and anyone who has not purchased from the app within the last year may input the code “App50” at checkout to receive the discount on all menu-priced pizzas.
In addition, Minnie’s Food Pantry, in collaboration with Wounded Warrior Project, is joining forces with local checkoff organization Dairy MAX and America’s dairy farmers to honor veterans and their families and share the joy of dairy at this year’s “Giving Thanks” food distribution event, DMI said. During the drive-through event on Nov. 14, food pantry volunteers, Wounded Warrior Project staff and volunteers, plus NFL Dallas Cowboys legends Drew Pearson, Tony Dorsett and Larry Brown will distribute holiday food staples such as turkey and stuffing to veterans. In addition, veterans will receive Farmers to Families Food Boxes that contain nutritious, fresh foods, including milk.
America’s dairy farmers also will be on-site distributing the ultimate comfort foods to attendees — grilled cheese sandwiches and chocolate milk, DMI said.
