Kombucha Town, Bellingham, Wash., said it launched Live Seltzer, a hybrid between two of the fastest-growing and most popular categories in the beverage industry over the last 20 years: functional beverages and seltzers.
According to the company, Live Seltzer is a proprietary blend of Kombucha Town’s organic and non-GMO raw kombucha cultures, fresh-pressed “hero” ingredients and carbonated water from the North Cascade mountains. The refreshing seltzer beverage comes with zero sugar, 1 to 2 calories per serving, and the benefits of kombucha.
Kombucha Town said the kombucha category is projected to continue a bold growth of 17.5% over the next five years across retail spaces. Customers are also seeking healthier beverage choices, with functional beverages as a whole predicted to grow by 8.66% between 2019 and 2024. Live Seltzer is available in in Ginger, Grapefruit and Cucumber flavors. It is packaged in recyclable 12-ounce aluminum cans and has a suggested retail price of $1.29-$1.79, Kombucha Town said.
