AYO Foods LLC, Delano, Calif., launched its first product line: AYO “almondmilk” yogurt alternative. The company was founded by the Billings family, who has farmed in California’s San Joaquin Valley for four generations. AYO said its yogurt alternative provides a healthy dose of probiotics — plus calcium, iron and up to 25% of daily recommended fiber.
According to AYO, the organic almonds used in its products are sustainably grown in its orchards. Each cup of yogurt alternative features approximately 20 organic almonds; it comes in four flavors, including Strawberry, Vanilla, Blueberry and Peach.
“We grow, pick and craft every batch of AYO almondmilk yogurt so the rich taste of the almonds really shines through,” said Matt Billings, company founder and fourth-generation almond farmer. “This truly is nature’s perfect treat, made from clean plant-based ingredients that nourish the body and feed the soul.”
AYO said it is the first crafter of almond-based yogurt alternatives to produce its own organic nuts.
