Perry’s Ice Cream Company Inc., Akron, N.Y., created its first oat-based, dairy-free frozen dessert line. The Perry’s Oats Cream line has seven flavors: Apple Strudel, Blueberry Pancake, Coconut Caramel, Oat Latte, Peanut Butter Coffee Cake, Peanut Butter & Cookies and Snickerdoodle. The offerings are vegan, nondairy, lactose-free, a good source of fiber and made with whole grains. Perry’s said insights from its product development team revealed that oat texture is more like ice cream, and its milder flavor allows for freedom and variety in flavor creation. Perry’s Oats Cream pints can be found in Wegmans Food Markets, Tops Markets and Lexington Co-Op Markets across New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virginia.
