Plastic players Krones, Husky and Silgan Closures said they joined forces with Houston-based Practically Impossible Labs to manufacture Practically Impossible Labs’ patented BottleOne integrated PET bottles for the marketplace. The partnership will allow the bottles to be manufactured on Krones’ Kosme rotary blow molder with Husky preforms — and sealed with Silgan’s closures.
The shatterproof BottleOne containers provide visualization of product, better sealing potential and better product protection than those made out of other materials, the companies said. Because of the bottles’ structural integrity, secondary packaging can be reduced or eliminated.
The bottle technology can be used for any large-format container that would benefit from a handle, the companies noted. Potential applications include dairy, water, juice, tea and more.
A press conference detailing more information will be held during Pack Expo International at 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 15, the companies noted, in room 501bc at Chicago’s McCormick Place.
