Main Street Capital Holdings LLC, a Pittsburgh-based private investment firm specializing in acquisitions of growth-oriented companies, said it acquired W&W Dairy LLC, a producer of private label Hispanic cheeses headquartered in Monroe, Wis., from its three founding partners. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
W&W Dairy produces queso fresco, cotija, quesadilla, panela and other cheese varieties within the high-growth Hispanic cheese market. The company operates out of a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Monroe. W&W’s diversified customer base includes Hispanic food distributors and direct-to-retail accounts in the United States and Canada, Main Street Capital Holdings said.
Franz Hofmeister was named president and CEO of W&W Dairy immediately following the acquisition. Hofmeister has more than 35 years of experience in the perishable foods and consumer packaged goods industry, Main Street Capital Holdings noted. He has been a Main Street Operating Partner since the late 1990s and served as CEO and president of two highly successful prior Main Street investments: Lloyd’s Barbeque and Wisconsin Cheese Group.
“I an extremely excited about the opportunity to lead W&W Dairy” Hofmeister said. “W&W is a highly agile producer of premium-quality cheese products that operates out of a modern facility with plenty of room for expansion. We’re looking forward to growing the company by strengthening our partnerships with our customers and quickly developing innovative new products and packaging options.”
