FMC Corporation attended the IFT show in Chicago in July, marking the first time FMC presented its pectin and natural color products at IFT.
“With 75 years of experience in the food industry, renowned technical expertise and a robust, naturally derived product portfolio, FMC has been able to continually bring innovative products to market that meet consumer demands, whether it be for a food item that is healthful, fun, or indulgent,” said Marshall Fong, global marketing director, Food Ingredients, FMC BioPolymer. “In addition to the tested portfolio of ingredients that have become synonymous with FMC, we are thrilled to showcase our newest solutions based on natural color and pectin that are designed to meet our costumers’ most demanding needs.”
During the four-day conference, research scientist Mike Cammarata presented Two Formulation Approaches to Replace Sulfite Ammonia Caramel, a sensory science poster in the Product Development Division, in response to an interest in finding technological and cost competitive suitable alternatives for sulfite ammonia caramel (#4).
The FMC BioPolymer team offered samples of gummy candy and hard candy containing FMC Pectin, FMC Carrageenan and FMC Natural Colors, as part of their participation in the “Taste the Expo” portion of the meeting.
FMC BioPolymer is one of the world’s leading providers of naturally-derived alginate, carrageenan, Avicel microcrystalline cellulose, pectin and natural colors, serving the worldwide food, pharmaceutical, personal care and specialty markets.
