Muratbey Foods, Istanbul, Turkey, has been producing innovative and traditional cheeses since 1994.
Its new fresh cheese, Helix, is the result of four years of research and development, the company said. The cheese is very fresh and has a milky taste (like mozzarella) with less sodium, said Hamit Erol of Muratbey Foods. "This is why children who don’t like cheese eat this one easily."
Another target market is middle-age people who avoid salty tastes, he said.
Muratbey Foods sells the cheese in brine in 200-gram, 250-gram, 500-gram and 4,000 gram packages (about 7 ounces to about 8.8 pounds).
The company seeks partners in the United States and Europe, Erol said. The company has been exporting since 2002 and sells to 19 countries.
