As mentioned in a another March 2012 article, Kraft Foods has aggressive new product plans for this year. Here’s a goodie that’s not fluid milk, but is said to be made with real milk, requires similar refrigeration and is merchandised with other dairy products. It also claims to contain as much calcium as an 8-ounce glass of milk. A first-of-its-kind in the United States, Kraft MilkBite Milk & Granola Bars have been characterized by the food giant as one of its big bets for 2012. Similar refrigerated milk bars have been common in Europe and Asia for some time, but never marketed by Kraft. The roll out supports the company’s dedication to snack food innovations and complements its growing list of refrigerated snacks including string cheese, dips, hummus kits and yogurt. The bars come in five varieties — Chocolate, Mixed Berry, Oatmeal Raisin, Peanut Butter and Strawberry — and are sold in either packs of five 1.23-ounce bars, or as individual bars in display boxes.
