Dairy Business Builder grants encourage dairy processors to pursue innovative projects.

More than three dozen dairy businesses located across the upper and lower Midwest are receiving Dairy Business Builder grants totaling $3.2 million in allocated funding. The grant program is administered by the Dairy Business Innovation Alliance (DBIA), a partnership between the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association (WCMA) and the Center for Dairy Research (CDR) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
The Pacific Coast Coalition Dairy Business Initiative, hosted by California State University, Fresno, will award funding to dairy producers and processors in California, Oregon, and Washington who want to become more innovative in today’s industry.
Reimbursable grants of up to $250,000 each will be awarded to dairy processors in five Midwestern states through a competitive review process.

The second round of Dairy Business Innovation Initiative grants will support continuation of the Dairy Business Innovation Alliance.

USDA announced that the Center for Dairy Research (CDR) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association (WCMA) were awarded $6.13 million to support continuation of the Dairy Business Innovation Alliance (DBIA), serving Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
