Mettler-Toledo unveiled a new analytical instrument that combines three measuring tasks in one instrument: the Easy VIS spectrophotometer. The new instrument analyzes liquid, translucent samples for optical spectrum, color and water parameters.
Ready-to-use screening models for the MilkoScan™ FT1 analyzer now make it quicker and easier for dairy producers to screen incoming raw milk for abnormalities. The models are available as ‘targeted’ models that check for the presence of specific adulterants and ‘untargeted’ models that check for any deviation from normal raw milk samples.
The Mogensen sizer concept was developed in 1947 by Fredrik Mogensen, Ph.D., Engineering. The machine concept is based on the principle that different sized particles have different probabilities through a screen. With sloped screen decks, the capacity of a specific area is achieved and particles have freedom of movement. Mogensen has recently improved several features of its sizer.
Pall Corp.is using its GeneDisc system to help screen for a deadly strain of E.coli. The technology is being used by Germany’s national reference laboratory to expedite testing of food samples for the toxic strain of E.coli O104:H4.
