Congratulations to Gary Gosda, far right, from Lake Country Dairy/Schuman Cheese in Turtle Lake, Wis., who received the prestigious title of Grand Master Cheesemaker for Cello Maple Mascarpone at the Wisconsin State Fair held August 1-11 at Wisconsin State Fair Park in West Allis, Wis.

Tarentaise Reserve from Farms for City Kids Foundation in Vermont was named “Best of Show” in the 2014 American Cheese Society competition. Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese Company from California was awarded second place overall.

The Specialty Food Association presented its sofi awards yesterday at a red-carpet ceremony in New York hosted by internationally acclaimed chef Marcus Samuelsson. There was a tie for the best new product. The winners are Artisan Biscuits Ltd.'s The Fine Cheese Co. Pearls of Pure Goats' Cheese and Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese Co.'s Point Reyes Bay Blue.
A butter blend, thin-sliced Swiss cheese and a Greek yogurt smoothie are among the winners in the Food and Beverage category in the 2013 Better Homes and Gardens Best New Product Awards.
Flagsheep from Beecher’s Handmade Cheese was named the Best of Show in the 2012 competition of the American Cheese Society. The cheesemaker has locations in Seattle and New York City.
