Following a successful checkoff pilot, Dairy Management Inc. (DMI) reports that the results of the checkoff checkoff-initiated smoothie program pilot showed increased consumption of milk and yogurt. As a result, the program will be offered in more schools this fall, the Rosemont, Il.-based company says.
In the juice category, a majority of subcategories experienced a drop in unit sales, consistent with many other dairy categories, according to data from Chicago-based research firm Circana (formerly IRI and NPD) for the 52 weeks ending March 26.
