Michael Dykes, D.V.M., president and CEO of the Washington, D.C.-based International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA), released the following statement on Nov. 8 regarding the Congressional passage of the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act:

Dairy processors Stonyfield Organic, Londonderry, N.H., and Waitsfield, Vt.-based Cabot Creamery said they are joining forces alongside the Farm Powered Strategic Alliance (FPSA) and Dairy Farmers of America to place dairy as a leader in forging a circular pathway to decarbonization and climate change mitigation.

The board of directors of Dairy Farmers of America (DFA), a Kansas City, Kan.-based milk marketing cooperative and global dairy foods company, announced the appointment of Dennis Rodenbaugh as president and CEO of DFA, effective at the end of 2022.

A soft goat’s cheese made by Andalusian cheesemaker Quesos y Besos was named World Champion Cheese in the World Cheese Awards in Oviedo, Spain, on Nov. 3. 

Cheesemakers and other dairy processors are invited to enter to compete in the 2022 World Championship Cheese Contest.

The International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA) announced the formation of a Supply Chain Task Force to develop policy recommendations to address severe supply chain disruptions affecting the U.S. dairy industry.

Chicago-based ADM said it will significantly expand its broad portfolio of health and wellness products and solutions with an agreement to purchase Kennesaw, Ga.-based Deerland Probiotics & Enzymes.

Sweet treats with functional benefits took home the four finalist spots this week in the Real California Milk Excelerator product innovation competition created by the Tracy, Calif.-based California Milk Advisory Board (CMAB) and VentureFuel, New York.
