According to the “2020 Food & Health Survey,” a new publication from the Washington, D.C.-based International Food Information Council (IFIC), 85% of Americans have made at least some change in the food they eat or how they prepare it because of the coronavirus pandemic.
I promise not to use the words unprecedented, uncertain, essential or new normal. I never want to hear those words again. The main part of my job is tracking, modeling and forecasting the supply, demand and prices of dairy products around the world.
The city of Dallas certainly has earned some bragging rights. It is home to the Dallas Cowboys, the most valuable team in the NFL (worth $5.5 billion in 2019, according to Forbes); the Texas State Fair, the biggest state fair in the nation (with more than 2,000,000 visitors annually); and the Dallas Arts District, the largest contiguous urban arts district in the nation.
The premium shelf-stable milk will nourish families in need amid immense demand.

Two truckloads of surplus milk donations arrived last week at Southern California's Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County from KanPak U.S.’s dairy production facility in Kansas.
After three years of negotiations, the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) will take effect on July 1. The U.S. dairy industry achieved its top two goals for USMCA, preserving our trade relationships in Mexico, our top export market, and reducing Canadian barriers to imported U.S. dairy products.

The Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) is doing things differently this year. IFT's annual meeting and food expo has taken place for 79 years, but 2020 is the first time the event will be entirely virtual.
The 100,000-square-foot plant in Searcy, Ark., will further expand Turkey Hill’s production capacity, capabilities and geographic reach.

Turkey Hill LLC, a Lancaster, Pa.-based manufacturer and distributor of branded ice cream and refrigerated drinks, said it acquired an ice cream and novelty production facility in Searcy, Ark., from Yarnell Ice Cream LLC, a subsidiary of Schulze & Burch Biscuit Co.
The project aims to support Northern California dairy farmers and food banks.

Bellwether Farms, a family-owned producer of yogurt and cheese based in Petaluma, Calif., said it launched Project Spilled Milk, an indiegogo campaign with the goal of raising $50,000.
They distributed more than 2,000 gallons of Maola milk in Maryland.

Maryland & Virginia Milk Producers Cooperative, in partnership with the Arden Hills, Minn.-based Land O’Lakes Foundation, said it distributed 2,160 gallons of Maola milk in New Windsor, Md., on May 30, 2020.
