At the event, the National Dairy Promotion and Research Board (NDB) honored Rick Naczi as the 2022 recipient of the Richard E. Lyng award for his contributions and distinguished service to dairy promotion.
In 2021, 61% of consumers turned to fresh milk at least weekly. Importantly, the number of consumers turning to these products has remained fixed over the last few years, which indicates that while people have been working on improving their health through their diet, they are not necessarily cutting down on their intake of fresh milk, stated FMCG Gurus.
Central to discussions was recommendations developed on federal milk pricing after more than 100 meetings that have taken place over the past year.

NMPF continues work on the Class I milk price surface as it examines information on county-level Class I price differentials. That work is expected to be completed later this year. Any final proposal will be reviewed by the organization before it’s submitted to USDA to be considered for a federal order hearing.

The HFMI program, a result of the 2018 Farm Bill, uses incentives to encourage Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP, participants to buy and consume qualifying milk as part of a healthy, balanced diet.
Refrigerated ready-to-drink (RTD) coffee and tea were red hot, with percolating sales of nearly $949 million and $1.44 billion, respectively, in multi-outlets for the 52 weeks ending July 10, IRI data states. Percentage-wise, coffee saw a 27% sales increase, while tea added year-over-year sales of 11%.
