Häagen-Dazs, a brand of Oakland, Calif.-based Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream, with the help of singer and actress Leslie Grace, announced the nationwide availability of its new City Sweets collection.
The reduction or elimination of lactose in ice cream and other frozen dairy desserts goes back to well before the simple declaration(s) of “low carb” in the early 2000s.
Nashville, Tenn., is known as “Music City.” But another Nashville — one situated in the state of Michigan — could be referred to as “Ice Cream City.” After all, Moo-Ville Creamery produces 60 flavors of the cold, creamy treat in this tiny village of just over 1,600 residents.
The brand’s new recipe features the same great taste with a creamier texture.

Halo Top, a brand of Le Mars, Iowa-based Wells Enterprises Inc., said it made a change to its dairy light ice cream recipe to deliver an even creamier texture while maintaining the same great taste.
The agreement will allow Ohio Processors to expand its product line, customer base and geographic reach.

Pierre’s Ice Cream Co., a Cleveland-based manufacturer and distributor of ice cream and other frozen desserts, and Ohio Processors Inc., a London, Ohio-headquartered manufacturer and distributor of dairy-related products, said they finalized an agreement under which Ohio Processors will acquire Pierre’s Ice Cream.
The pilot plant features three separate dedicated spaces for extractions and experimental technologies.
