Employees at Associated Milk Producers Inc.'s (AMPI) Sanborn, Iowa, plant might be seeing double, but that doesn't mean there's anything wrong with their vision. Instead, it’s a reflection of a recent expansion that doubled the facility's cheesemaking capacity.
Associated Milk Producers Inc. (AMPI) produces upwards of 640 million pounds of cheese, 140 million pounds of butter and 175 million pounds of powdered products each year. Despite those impressive figures, most consumers have never heard of the New Ulm, Minn. based dairy cooperative.
Jasper Hill Farm, took top honors at the American Cheese Society's (ACS) 2018 Conference & Competition, which took place July 25-28 in Pittsburgh. The company's Harbison was named Best of Show among almost 2,000 entries, ACS said.
