The overall frozen dessert category took a hit in sales over the last year. But the frozen pudding and mousse segment saw an increase in both sales and unit sales. With the health and wellness trend continuing among Americans, it’s likely that many are looking to better-for-you options to curb their sweet tooth.

Winn-Dixie Greek yogurt and Market Pantry classic ranch dressing from Target were among the 10 store brands to tie their name-brand rivals, Chobani Greek yogurt and Hidden Valley ranch dressing, respectively.
Ice cream processors booked greater sales revenues in the last year, but unit sales in the category tumbled 4%. It’s the same for novelties. Frozen yogurt, on the other hand, tells a different story.

General Mills' Yoplait has developed a new, six-ingredient yogurt named Simplait. It will be available this month. Simplait follows the launch last month of a 100-calorie-per-serving Greek yogurt.
