The Kraft Heinz Co., headquartered in Pittsburgh and Chicago, said it entered into an agreement to acquire Companhia Hemmer Indústria e Comércio (Hemmer), a Brazilian company focused on condiments and sauces.
The new initiative, which aims to accelerate climate change action and reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across the dairy sector, is already backed by organizations representing approximately 30% of global milk production.

Pathways to Dairy Net Zero, a ground-breaking new climate initiative, is Sept. 22 during Climate Week and just prior to the United Nations (UN) Food Systems Summit. Forty leading organizations, including 11 of the 20 largest dairy companies in the world, already declared their support for the effort, according to the Global Dairy Platform, Rosemont, Ill.

Burlington, Vt.-based Ben & Jerry's says it added a new limited-batch flavor — Change is Brewing. The flavor is a combination of cold-brew coffee ice cream, marshmallow swirls and fudge brownies; it was created to help transform the nation's approach to public safety to one that prioritizes community needs.
If sales data are any indication, more consumers are saying goodbye to coffee filters, tea bags and the long wait to brew. According to data from Chicago-based market research firm IRI, dollar sales within the shelf-stable ready-to-drink (RTD) tea and coffee category shot up 9.5% during the 52 weeks ending Aug. 8, 2021, to $7,647.5 million. Unit sales increased 3.0% to 3,044.1 million.

The National Milk Producers Federation (NMPF) and the U.S. Dairy Export Council (USDEC), both headquartered in Arlington, Va., joined several other organizations urging the Biden administration to take additional steps to alleviate the ongoing ports crisis in a letter sent on Sept. 13 to the White House from a coalition of 77 agriculture and food associations.
