Saputo Inc. announced two strategic acquisitions: one the dairy alternatives space and one in the value-added ingredients segment.

“In the spirit of finding creative ways to express yourself fully and authentically” — International Delight, a brand of White Plains, N.Y.- and Broomfield, Colo.-based Danone North America that is known for celebrating uniqueness through flavor — said it is partnering with comedian, actor and champion of self-expression Bob the Drag Queen.

Dairy processor Chobani LLC, Norwich, N.Y., said it is collaborating with T Brand at The New York Times to debut a new podcast called “Next Bite.”

Reps. Peter Welch (D-Vt.) and Mike Simpson (R-Idaho), and Sens. Tammy Baldwin (D-Wis.) and Jim Risch (R-Idaho) re-introduced bipartisan legislation that requires the FDA to take enforcement action against manufacturers labeling nondairy products as dairy, according to representatives of Welch and Simpson.
