In this week's free-standing inserts, there are new toppings for Dannon's Danimals; new flavors for Yoplait's Greek 100; a protein claim from Mountain High; and Nabisco graham crackers filled with yogurt crème.
Launched with six flavors, Kraft is soon adding three more, and promoting the product with mobile food trucks.

Kraft Foods got its new Fresh Take product on the shelf in about 12 months after the idea was conceived. Kraft launched the cheese-and-breadcrumbs kit in January 2012 with six SKUs, and will soon add three more flavors.

Dairy marketers took to the free-standing inserts this week to promote new flavors, nutrition and foods for the upcoming Super Bowl (although none identified the championship game as such).
"It enables us to further enhance how healthier foods, beverages and snacks are developed and marketed," said Jeff Dunn, CEO of Bolthouse Farms.

The $5 million Innovation Center houses several test kitchens and a sensory center, which will allow product developers to utilize advanced technologies as they research food and beverage ingredients and products. The 17,900 square foot complex is currently staffed with 40 employees. The center will greatly expand the potential number of products Bolthouse Farms brings to market on an annual basis and enable the introduction of completely new product categories.
Lifeway's coconut-chia kefir pulled in more than 13,000 votes.

Lifeway's coconut-chia kefir received the most votes (13,441) in Dairy Foods' Best New Dairy Products of 2012 poll. It was one of 25 dairy foods and beverages nominated by the magazine's editors.
Daisy and Dole jointly promote low-fat cottage cheese and tropical fruit in an FSI headlined "Together, the possibilities are endless!" Post Foods launches a new Honey Bunches of Oats cereal made with real Greek yogurt.
Dairy Foods' editors liked them, but the buying public had other ideas.

Kraft Foods plans to discontinue its Milk Bite granola bar snacks in early 2013 and Nestle USA has discontinued its Skinny Cow Shakes and Wonka premium ice cream for 2013.
