Cacique LLC, a Los Angeles-based Hispanic foods company that makes authentic Mexican-style cheeses, cremas and chorizos, announced an addition to the company's ownership group as part of a round of funding that will be used to accelerate its brand’s continued rapid growth nationwide.
Both companies manufacture Hispanic frozen novelty products.

Wind Point Partners and portfolio company Tropicale Foods, an Ontario, Calif.-based manufacturer of authentic Hispanic-inspired frozen novelty products under the Helados Mexico brand, announced the acquisition of Paleteria La Michoacana (PLM), a portfolio company of Canum Capital Partners and Greyrock Capital Group.
The transaction includes all shares of Ultima Foods Inc. and the Iögo, Iögo Nanö and Olympic brands.

Lactalis Canada Inc., formerly Parmalat Canada Inc., a Toronto-based subsidiary of Lactalis Group, said it has reached a definitive agreement with Agropur Cooperative to acquire all shares of its Canadian yogurt business, Ultima Foods Inc.
The company furthers its commitment to farming practices that help mitigate climate change.

St. Benoit Creamery, Sonoma, Calif., said Mindful Awards — an independent recognition platform highlighting conscious companies and products that mindfully make waves in the ever-expanding world of consumer packaged goods — selected the company’s yogurt for the “Yogurt Product of the Year” award.
The 46,766-square-foot plant in Willows, Calif., will increase efficiency and capacity by 50% while retaining all 150 current employees.

Chef Christopher Collins developed a number of recipes featuring Shamrock Farms eggnog and Slane Irish Whiskey.
