Cultured dairy products, dairy products fermented with lactic acid bacteria, have been around for absolutely ages. The COVID-19 pandemic and a bit of innovation on the part of dairy processors, however, have combined to build consumer demand in a number of cultured dairy segments during the past year or so.

Danone North America, headquartered in White Plains, N.Y., and Broomfield, Colo., added two flavors to its Two Good Greek lowfat yogurt line: Raspberry and Mango Hibiscus.

As part of its series of new innovations for 2020, Danone North America, White Plains, N.Y., said it added two yogurt lines under its Oikos brand.

Noosa Yoghurt, a subsidiary of Sovos Brands, Berkeley, Calif, said it launched Noosa Hilo yogurt.

Chobani LLC, Norwich, N.Y., said it is building on its dairy industry initiative — Milk Matters — with the launch of its second limited-edition charity flavor.

The company said it added Black Cherry, Coconut and Plain varieties. The Two Good Greek Yogurt line has over 80% less sugar than average Greek yogurts.

The on-the-go yogurt snacks now come in savory flavors.

Savory yogurt flavors are making their way into the mainstream from dairy processors like Chobani and Noosa, as consumer interest in exotic flavors sparks new flavor innovations.

New England maple is the latest flavor for Stonyfield in its tri-layer Oh My Yog! yogurt line.
