Challenge Butter, the flagship brand of Challenge Dairy Products, a marketing and processing cooperative in California co-owned by 300 dedicated dairy farmers, rolled out national distribution for one of its Spreadable Lactose Free Clarified Butter with Canola Oil.

The strategic decision to increase distribution is largely driven by the ever-growing lactose-free category, which is projected to reach nearly $20B in value by 2025, according to the company.

“We're committed to providing delicious and convenient dairy options for everyone,” said Michael Burdeny, president of Challenge Dairy Products. “The decision to grow distribution of our Lactose Free Clarified Butter with Canola Oil product demonstrates our dedication to catering to the growing demand for lactose-free products.  Our lactose free butter maintains the high quality and taste consumers expect from Challenge Dairy with the benefit of being spreadable.”

Challenge Lactose Free Clarified Butter with Canola Oil is formulated specifically for individuals with lactose intolerance, a dietary condition that affects nearly two-thirds of the global population*. The lactose removal process allows those with lactose sensitivities to enjoy the benefits of clarified butter without digestive discomfort. The resulting product still maintains the rich flavor and versatility of clarified butte.
