Italy-based Avionicar sas offers a stackable plastic grid made entirely of polypropylene for the dairy and food industry for seasoning and storage of cheeses, meats and salami and seafood.
The company’s plastic aging racks are used for ripening, brining and drying cheeses allowing an optimal ventilation and support of aged hard, semi-hard and soft cheese. The stackable grill allows greater ventilation offering better seasoning and less mold formation for the salting, drying and aging of goat cheese, caciotte, gouda, tomini, muffettato, cascaval, Tuscan pecorino and Sardinian pecorino, the company says.
Additionally, the stackable grid is perforated and raised in order to allow optimal air circulation to improve and accelerate the cheese maturing process and reduce the formation of mold. Depending on the size of the cheese to be stored, the grid is available in three heights: 150, 180 and 210 mm.
The sturdy, stackable system can be easily stacked on euro pellets or on wheels (with a special trolley) for storage and transport, making the best use of available space, the company states.
