In celebration of its milestone 75th birthday, McConnell’s is reviving four classic flavors from its early days in retro style pints featuring the original 1949 iconic packaging.
- Sweet Cream - Decadent, Central Coast, grass-fed milk & cream, cage-free eggs and pure cane sugar. These three ingredients have been the base for all of our ice cream flavors since 1949.
- Santa Barbara Strawberry - Sinfully ripe Santa Barbara strawberry preserves, macerated and stirred into Central Coast, grass-fed milk & cream. A splash of R.R. Lochhead vanilla. A shot of Eureka lemon juice.
- Dutchman's Chocolate - Smooth, mouth-filling Guittard cocoa and Central Coast, grass-fed milk & cream.
- Black Coffee Chip - Dark roasted coffee from Handlebar Coffee Roasters, our Santa Barbara neighbors, alongside our melted, bittersweet chocolate chip.
"Celebrating 75 years of McConnell’s Ice Cream is not just a testament to the quality of our product and legacy of the McConnell’s family, but also to the support and impact of our roots in Santa Barbara. We’re proud to have grown to where we are today while still maintaining our Santa Barbara-based McConnell's Family Dairy and embracing our values of tradition, craftsmanship, and community. Here's to 75 years of sweet success and many more scoops to come," said Michael Palmer, CEO of McConnell’s.
For the last 75 years, McConnell’s has used all made-from-scratch ingredients, from using milk from the cows at their family Dairy, to crafting their own jams and caramels and baking homemade cookies and toppings. These retro flavors will be available in scoop shops and McConnell's website beginning April 12.
