The Pennsylvania Dairymen’s Association, known for its famous milkshakes sold at the PA Farm Show and around the state, announced a new specialty premium ice cream called “Cowabunga.” According to the Harrisburg, Pa.-based association, the pint-sized ice cream comes in two flavors: Vanilla Cowabunga and Chocolate Cowabunga.

The rollout is through a partnership with Karns Foods, Stauffers of Kissel Hill Fresh Foods and other area businesses in central Pennsylvania. Milkshake pop ups are also taking place in the coming weeks for milkshake fans, The Pennsylvania Dairymen’s Association said.

“Imagine a PA Dairymen’s milkshake ‘by the scoop’ and you’ll understand why this creamy ice cream is a must have,” said Dave Smith, executive director of Pennsylvania Dairymen’s Association. “We are thrilled to share some fun news and our newest PA dairy product with everyone in celebration of our world-class dairy industry, hardworking dairy farmers, and the upcoming holiday season and 2021 virtual PA Farm Show.”

Smith noted that the “Cowbunga” ice cream was produced in honor of the 2021 PA Farm Show and will have limited availability at locations throughout central Pennsylvania. Proceeds from ice cream sales will support Pennsylvanian agricultural, education, farming and hunger-prevention programs and projects.
