Big Gay Ice Cream, New York, expanded its distribution to the West Coast. Along with the retail expansion, the company said it also launched three new flavors: Banan-o-Graham, Fluffernutter and Spicy Choco-Lit.
Banan-o-Graham is Caramelized Banana ice cream with graham swirls and graham crunch. Fluffernutter is Peanut Butter ice cream with marshmallow swirls, micromallows and peanut praline. The last addition is Spicy Choco-Lit: Milk Chocolate ice cream with spicy fudge swirls and hot cinnamon candy pieces.
Big Gay Ice Cream said the new offerings join its existing portfolio of six flavors, including cult classic American Globs — a blend of fudge-covered salted pretzel balls, fudge-covered pretzel pieces and fudge swirl blended into Malted Sweet Cream ice cream.
"We are so excited that Big Gay Ice Cream has arrived on the West Coast," said Doug Quint, founder of the company. "We started in 2009 with a single truck on a street corner in Union Square, New York City, and never in our wildest dreams thought our ice cream would spread from coast to coast.”
The pints will be available for $5.99 at select local retailers, including Vons, Albertsons, Pavilions, Circle K, Safeway, Lucky's and Save Mart. The products are also available online via Instacart and Amazon Fresh.
