Positive displacement pump

Ampco Pumps enhanced the traditional design of its ZP1-style pump with the patent-pending ZP1+ positive displacement pump. This advanced design changes the position of the dynamic O-ring for better performance and faster maintenance, the company said. Seal maintenance times are cut in half using ZP1+ technology. ZP1+ dynamic O-rings can be changed without removing the body or disconnecting the pump from the piping system, providing simple maintenance and increased production times. The one-piece sleeve design seals the pump if the rotors are removed for clean-in-place processing.

Hygienic high-pressure pump

The Triplex G3F process diaphragm pump from LEWA GmbH has an aseptic design with a collecting pipe and pressure transmitter solution. The pump stands out for its hermetically sealed diaphragm pump heads, its high-power drive unit and its low-noise emissions. The hermetically sealed diaphragm pump does not require plunger flushing, substantially lowering the risk of the system’s re-contaminating the end product.

Steam and water mixing valve

Archon said its steam and water mixing valve unit, model WD2010, has a simple design and is easy to use. With few moving parts and a wide range of operating capabilities, the unit is capable of handling 200 PSIG of steam. Steam and cold water are carefully and thoroughly mixed to provide “instant” hot water on demand. Using the proportional flow water and steam control valves, the operator can adjust the washdown station to deliver the desired hot water temperature, as indicated on the dial thermometer located in the mixed water discharge. By depressing the ergonomically designed fail-safe trigger of the hand-held spray nozzle or the optional spray lance, the operator can direct a steady flow of hot water from a fine spray to a solid jet.

4-inch Y-ball check valve

Sanitary Solutions Inc. said it is making the industry’s first and only 4-inch Y-ball check valve. Y-ball check valves are primarily found in the beverage, dairy, chemical and tank industries, where product flow applications require the prevention of reverse flow. The addition of a 4-inch model allows customers to utilize the full 4-inch port to increase flow. This will, in turn, increase product volume per day, therefore increasing daily revenue for the user, the company said. The sanitary stainless-steel valve is polished to meet a 3-A sanitary finish.

Positive displacement pumps

SPX Flow’s new Waukesha Cherry-Burrell Universal 3 (U3) series positive displacement pump provides a long life and hygienic performance for dairy, food and beverage applications. The pump series incorporates a front-loading seal and offers a high level of robustness to further extend life time and reliability, the company said. Improved seal life and greater torque capacity are created with shorter larger-diameter shafts. This increases reliability of the units and enables their use in higher-pressure applications. As with other Universal pump ranges, the U3 series has close running clearance rotors to further enhance longevity.

Round vacuum pump

Piab’s new round vacuum pump is easy to mount and install directly into a vacuum line. The round pump is based on Midi Coax cartridge technology, which provides a large amount of vacuum flow with minimal air consumption. Midi Coax is an ejector technology based on a multi-stage concept for creating vacuum with compressed air. By integrating the internal components of a multi-stage vacuum pump into a vacuum cartridge, Midi Coax allows for a smaller, more efficient, more reliable and highly flexible technology. With its cylindrical shape, the round pump fits well in cramped areas. The company said energy efficiency is gained by using Coax cartridges. The vacuum and exhaust are in line, making it easy to install into existing hose or pipe lines. Made from polyphenylene sulfide, the round pump can withstand a variety of environments.

Twin-screw pump for large particles

Fristam expanded its twin-screw pump lineup with the release of the FDS 4 pump. The FDS 4 provides high flow rates and the ability to pump larger particles. The pump provides displacements up to 90.682 cubic inches per revolution — more than twice as much as the next largest model, according to the company. It is ideal for the transfer of cheese curd, mozzarella, cottage cheese and cream cheese, as well as cheese inclusions such as fruit and vegetable chunks or nuts into cream cheese. The FDS 4 also handles entrained air applications such as whipped cream cheese without becoming air-bound. The FDS 4 is designed to be easy to operate and maintain.
