Burlington, N.J.-based Tuscan Dairy Farms, a business of Dean Foods Co., said is partnering with The Birthday Party Project to share its 100th birthday with homeless youth in the New York City boroughs and New Jersey.
Since 1918, when Tuscan began delivering door-to-door in New Jersey's Essex and Union Counties, families have trusted the quality and flavor of Tuscan products, Dean Foods said. Today, Tuscan DairyPure milk comes from local farms throughout New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
The Tuscan DairyPure brand will host an all-day Gallons of Goodness fundraiser for The Birthday Party Project on Aug. 11 at retailers throughout the New York/New Jersey metro area. On that day, it will donate $1.00 for every gallon of milk purchased at participating stores, up to $10,000, Dean Foods said. Select stores also will provide customers with samples of milk and cake or cupcakes from 10:00 a.m. to noon on Aug. 11.
"We are excited to celebrate 100 years of providing quality Tuscan products to families in the New York/New Jersey metro area," said Steve Kane, vice president, group sales Mid-Atlantic Region for Dean Foods. "And we're happy to partner with The Birthday Party Project to support their mission of bringing joy to homeless children through the magic of birthdays."
Tuscan DairyPure will also provide party favors for the monthly birthday parties hosted by The Birthday Party Project at homeless shelters and transitional living facilities such as the Bushwick Family Residence in Brooklyn and the Samuel Proctor Residence in New York City. The national nonprofit hosts birthday parties across the country to bring the joy of a birthday celebration to children of all ages and remind them that they matter, Dean Foods noted.
