Applegate Farms launches a natural cheese line

Applegate Farms, a subsidiary of Hormel Foods, Austin, Minn., launched a natural cheese line under the Applegate Naturals brand. The non-GMO cheese has no added colors or artificial ingredients. The cheese is available in six sliced varieties, including medium cheddar, American-style Colby and mozzarella. The three shredded cheese offerings are an Italian Blend, a medium cheddar and a Mexican blend. The American-style Colby variety has 80 calories, 0 grams of sugar and 7 grams of fat per each 21-gram (one-slice) serving. The cheese is available at select retailers nationwide. The suggested retail price is $4.99 per 6-ounce package.
