Raleigh, N.C.-based Aseptia is making its aseptic preservation technology called AseptiWave available to food processors. With the process, companies can preserve food for 12 months or more without preservatives and without jeopardizing the final product, according to the Aseptia. Three aseptic juices produced for customers at Wright Foods were tested and evaluated against three market leaders. Across every tested category, Aseptia’s products proved to be comparable in terms of freshness, natural flavor and purchase intent, according to the company. The patented technology – which uses advanced, volumetric heating – and aseptic process, preserves the food’s aroma, natural flavor and nutritional values, in addition to expanding the shelf life.
