Londonderry, N.H.-based Stonyfield launched frozen yogurt pearls last spring. The hand-held and portion-controlled frozen dessert features scoops of organic frozen yogurt enveloped in all-natural, edible skins. The skin's texture resembles a firm fruit-like coating and is made of natural food particles like fruit, sugar and natural ions (calcium).
The suggested retail price is $3.99 per package of two. Each 2-pearl serving size (1.7-ounces) contains 40 to 60 calories, 0 grams of fat and 7 to 9 grams of sugar. The frozen dessert is currently available at Whole Foods in the Northeast.
