Newman’s Own, Westport, Conn., introduced a nonfat Greek yogurt to its lineup. The all-natural, five-variety line entered the Atlantic seaboard last spring, from Maine to Maryland.
Newman’s new yogurt features big pieces of fruit on the bottom — plus a thick, creamy yogurt texture. It contains 12 grams of protein per 5.3-ounce cup, and contains five live & active cultures. The yogurt has no artificial flavors, colors or preservatives.
The five varieties are: blueberry, pineapple, strawberry, peach and black cherry. The yogurt is available in a 5.3-ounce size for a suggested retail price of $1.49.
The following retailers carry the new Greek yogurt: Stop & Shop, Giant, Hannaford, Shaw’s, A&P, The Food Emporium, Pathmark, Waldbaum’s, Big Y and Price Chopper.
