Breakstone’s, a Kraft Foods brand, Northfield, Ill., introduced the first-ever Greek-style sour cream to the national market, according to the company.
The new sour cream features traditional sour cream blended with authentic Greek strained yogurt. This Greek-style contains 50% less fat, 40% less cholesterol, and twice the calcium and protein of regular sour cream. Each serving (2 tablespoons) has 4% of the daily value for calcium, 40 calories, 3 grams of fat and 2 grams of protein.
The new sour cream is available in the dairy aisle of retailers across the country. It’s sold in a 16-ounce container for a suggested retail price of $2.99.
The new offering joins the other Breakstone’s sour cream varieties including all natural, fat-free and reduced-fat, ranging in sizes from 8-ounce to 48-ounce.
