YoCrunch, owned by YoFarm Yogurt Co., Naugatuck, Conn., created its new line of authentic Greek yogurt called Yopa!
The flavors come in vanilla with a toasted almonds or dark chocolate pieces topping, and blueberry, strawberry, black cherry and peach with granola topping mix-ins. Yopa! is the first line of authentic Greek yogurt that includes a variety of toppings to mix in, according to the company.
The yogurt is available nationwide for a suggested retail price of $1.39 per 5.3-ounce cup and $3.49 per four-pack of 3.5-ounce cups. Yopa!, like all YoCrunch products, contain no preservatives, artificial colors or sweeteners.
According to a company press release, Yopa!, is a contraction of Yo’ (short for yogurt) and Opa! (the Greek cheer for joy). As part of the launch, Gabby Douglas, the 2012 two-time Olympic Gold Medalist and 2012 Associated Press Female Athlete of the Year, is serving as the spokeswoman for the new product. She is featured on the packaging and in advertising and promotions.
